Simulating cars and pedestrians during evacuation
Cars and pedestrians can obstruct one another during tsunami evacuation. This paper presents a multi-agent simulator of their interactions in detailed urban environments and compares interaction models with observations. Demonstration scenarios compare vehicle-use strategies and congestion patterns. The validation observations do not represent panic conditions, so the findings remain conditional on the model and scenario.
