Detailed, scalable models of urban evacuation

This dissertation develops a scalable evacuation simulator with detailed environments and interacting pedestrian and vehicle agents. It combines model design, calibration from observations, component validation and demonstration scenarios. The applications compare car-use restrictions, road widening and departure schedules. The scenario comparisons illustrate simulated performance; the thesis calls for further robustness checks before practical application.
