How workplace geometry shapes appraisal

What makes a workplace feel safe, pleasant, or distracting? This study varies partition height, ceiling height, and contour across 36 virtual workplace models, collecting appraisals from 713 participants. Higher partitions relate to perceived safety and fewer distractions, while curved contours receive more positive aesthetic ratings. The findings concern reported perceptions of visual scenes, rather than measured workplace productivity.
